Mechanical Restoration. The Half That Moves.

The half of the piece that moves. Clock movements, phonograph and radio works, jukeboxes and recliner mechanisms, not only the cabinets around them.

A mantel clock, a Victrola, a console radio and a treadle sewing machine are each two things at once: a piece of case furniture with a machine living inside it. Most furniture shops will take the cabinet and send the mechanism somewhere else. Both halves are done here, so the piece goes home striking, playing or sewing rather than standing in the room looking the part.

Antique clocks, record players and phonographs, radios, jukeboxes, sewing machines and antique telephones all come in on the same bench, and so do recliner mechanisms, electrical and mechanical alike. The works are cleaned, freed off and put back in running order, and the cabinet is treated as furniture while that goes on, not as a box around the works.
